What is your age? Please note, to apply for staff you need to be at least 14 years old.
42 years old.
What is your timezone?
CST
What country are you from?
USA
How many hours a week are you able to put into the SkyLight Network (specify per day)?
I don't want to put an exact number on it, but you know me and I am on quite a bit. Sundays are the day that I spend the least amount of hours on the server because the family is busy with church.
Do you have any previous experience holding staff positions?
Yes. I have been staff on a couple of servers.
The first server I was staff on was Minecraft Crafter's Community. minecraftcc.com I started there as a helper and worked my way up to a level 2 moderator. As a level 2 moderator, I had access to pretty much everything. Level 3 moderators did world edit stuff. I didn't stick around to learn that. We were responsible for moderating in-game as well as in the forums. In its heyday, it would have about 65 members online at any given time. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about being a staff member. The only reason I left was due to taking a hiatus of Minecraft at the time.
The next server I was a staff member on was OxiousPVP. I started there as a helper and again worked my way up to being a moderator. I was a highly trusted member of the staff who was given OP on the server even though I was only a mod. I helped answer support tickets in discord, etc. I helped during the testing and setup of the server. I worked with the owner and the community manager. The 3 of us had regular discord meetings to discuss any server issues that were happening. It was a startup much like SkyLight so there were several issues with the configuration. I helped track down issues with some of the yml files, etc. This server had up to 250 players on at one time during its peak. I left this server because the owner and manager were too busy focusing on starting a factions server and neglected the skyblock server. I didn't get the support I needed to continue to grow.
Why do you want to become a staff member?
I know just a couple of days ago I said I didn't want to be staff, but earlier tonight there was an issue where there was a player who was being very disrespectful to me as well as spamming curse words all over the server. There is a gap in coverage from staff during this time and I feel like I can help out with that. As you know I am familiar with all the rules and how to play on the server. I think I can help to make the server a more inviting place and keep some of the riffraff out.
